#relating forests - Workshop in Germany/ Lippe (NRW) July 2025
When fairy tales and masks meet science in Lipperland.
In July 2025, we will explore new paths between cultural heritage and contemporary artistic creation with our international partners from Norway and France.
A living laboratory for artistic transformation.
Following our successful workshop in the French Alps, the international project ‘relating forests’ will take us to the forests of the Lippe region in July 2025. From 16 to 19 July, we will transform the local forests into a living laboratory for artistic transformation – an encounter between tradition and innovation, between fairy tales and science.
Interdisciplinary encounters in the heart of Germany
Luzie Ackers and Marianne Cornil (TheatreFragile) will meet Rebekka Sæter (NOBA, Norway) and Anne-Claire Dromzée (CEA, France) for an intensive exchange. We will be supported by an interdisciplinary team of experts in nature education, cultural studies and theatre studies.
Our goal is to explore the complex boundaries between cultural heritage and contemporary art. How can traditional narrative forms such as fairy tales and ritual masks merge with modern forms of artistic expression such as media creativity and bioacoustics?
Among other things, we will present elements from our current production ‘STILL’. This innovative performance combines contemporary mask work with experimental music and bioacoustic elements and shows how tradition and innovation can complement each other.
At several points, you will have the opportunity to gain an insight into our work and be part of the process:
