Mask play workshop in Hildesheim
On 4-6 and 25-26 May 2023 a mask play workshop took place in Hildesheim. With the wonderful masks of Luzie Ackers and under the guidance of Marianne Cornil, the participants were able to discover and explore the art of mask play at the Kulturfabrik Löbecke in Hildesheim.
Putting on masks means simultaneously engaging with oneself, with the other and with the unknown at the same time. We search for the figures in silence, in the moment, free from any deliberate or planned representation. Then the figures reveal themselves and every breath, every movement becomes exciting. It is a state of openness, of being without preconceptions, that allows us to enter into the unknown. It is a state in which we begin to be bestowed!
On the last day, the participants shot portrait videos of their character, with Jette Spohn at the camera and then editing. To the video channel: https://vimeo.com/channels/maskenspielhildesheim
